A New Tradition, A New Beginning...

{ 10:35 PM, Wednesday, September 19, 2007 } { Posted in EFx2Blogs } { Link }

Well, well, well... I get in from an exhaustive business trip and find that Keith has utilized the generous contributions of Periodically Demented and many others to get the newer and improved-er EFx2Blogs community up and running.

I took a few minutes to slightly modify a stock template just to check out the new blog-engine and while I still have a long way to go, I'm diggin it much more than the WPMU-based site we had when I was last on-line.

If I have the time, I'll tinker and tweak a little bit more this weekend but I wanted to get at least one post up and thought I'd start with the inspiration behind my Ultra Mundane EFx2 blog by  sharing a snippet of lyrics and high quality, fully legal MP3 of the Tragically Hip tune Ultra Mundane, a bonus track from the 2002 release "In Violet Light"

It's great to be home, in more ways than one!

"Come the ultra mundane of another life
You know it by the trail of the nervous
Your memories compress, your senses are sly
And portions of your shadowiness on
On your everyday nights
Into northern lights
Pour it all at their service

Start beginning by beginning
It's time, it's time, it's time
A new tradition, a new beginning
It's time, it's time, it's time"

Gord Downie, The Tragically Hip

I just have three questions: where's that confounded PayPal link, am I missing the spill-chuck function, and why won't my link color-changes take? Anyone? Bueller?

Pimpin the New Design (and "24")

{ 1:07 AM, Tuesday, December 6, 2005 } { Posted in EFx2Blogs } { Link }
Alright, I think the new design finished. One of these days I'll have to talk about the dog of a PC I'm forced to use until I determine the fate of my primary machine...argh! Any way, I'm pretty happy with the final look and eventually (there's that word again) I'll put up some sidebar links & stuff.

Now I'm going to close my crossing eyes & catch some ZZZs

But first, since the fourth season of "24" is coming out on DVD, here's a screen-capture of one of my favorite scenes. When Jack Bauer needs and answer, he gets an answer. BLAM! Right in the knee! poor terrorist couldn't whimper fast enough. I can't wait to see how they 'bring him back' in January.

G'night.

It's Getting There

If this blog looks a little unusual, weird, hideous, or otherwise incomplete, it's because I'm playin' around with the design elements. I like the color scheme I had (similar the shades of grey at Sottitude.Net) but wasn't real happy with the way some of the font colors translated. I swore I wasn't going to spend a lot of time on design here at EFx2 but I can't seem to leave well enough alone and Keith has made it so easy!

Eventually, I'll finalize the design but for now, its a work in progress.

Too Little, Too Late

Mb_051202_3 While there are far more globally important issues in the world, the  big news in the Blogosphere is that ModBlog (aka Gorman's Folley) is back online. Bloggers have been making a mass exodus to a variety of blog hosts since early November when Gorman's empty promises proved to be just that. The exodus reached a fevered pitch last week when the Wandering Tribes of ModBlog found an oasis in the desert Gorman forced us into.

EFX2 Blogs has graciously welcomed and accommodated well over a hundred former ModBloggers and the site owner, Keith, actually does what he says he'll do when he says he'll do it. This is a far cry from the cock-and-bull story perpetrated by Gorman and his flunkies. Prior to coming back online, the last communique from Gorman (in the form a '404 error' page) was on November 22 and stated that everything would be back online shortly. Yeah, okay, if you believed that I'll be happy to sell you the Ambassador Bridge and the Windsor Tunnel at a great price...

Scottitude.net is my primary home and will continue to be, but I intend to remain active here in the EFx2 community and I strongly urge every one to check it out for yourselves. It has everything a blogging community needs and member suggestions are quickly incorporated whenever possible.

As for my ModBlog, I've been collecting images from my galleries and considering how much, if anything, I'll leave on the site.

Like the notorious war-monger that "leads" our country says: "Fool me once shame on...shame on you. Fool me twice...er...uh...won't get fooled again."

ModBlog is dead; long live EFx2Blogs!

Pretty Cool

I played around with the design and the interface is pretty simple. I'll play a little more as time allows and see what I can come up with. There are a lot of features that I haven't even touched so there's lots to be done. Time.

See ya 'round.
